I was born in Houston, TX and grew up in a town just east of there called Deer Park.  Unlike most, I did not begin hunting until the age of 15 and went on my first duck hunt during my senior year of high school.  I cut my teeth waterfowling on public ground with cottonmouths and gators in the marshes, flooded cypress, and on Trinity Bay east of Houston. During the off season, we spent the majority of our time crappie fishing bayou's or chasing specks and reds in shallows of the bay. I now live in Stillwater, OK where I am attending college at Oklahoma State University and majoring in Wildlife Ecology.  Although most people overlook Oklahoma when they think of top waterfowling destinations, the abundance of agriculture and water makes for some of the best waterfowl hunting the country has to offer.  I am also a guide at Double J Outfitters of Oklahoma. During duck and goose season we hunt watersheds, sloughs, and shallow rivers for ducks and wheat, soybean, and corn fields for geese.  Spring time is pretty busy too with the crappie spawn and turkey season consuming most my spare time.  Just within the last few years I learned about contest calling.  I started contest calling in February 2007 at the Oklahoma State contest; it was a humbling experience. Since then, I have driven myself to become more proficient with a duck call. Although I have a few top 5's under my belt, I have yet to qualify for the Worlds and will continue the quest to punch my ticket.  Nevertheless, it's still all about "The Calling".
