Bill's father first took him duck hunting at age 3. From that day on, keeping him out of the blind became a serious issue for both of his parents! His father relates that while many children would cry to go home when the weather got lousy, Bill would cry when it was time to go home and even worse on the days when he was not permitted to go at all. There has never been a time in Bill's life that waterfowling did not play a major role.

As he was growing up, Bill's inability to concentrate on anything other than duck hunting was frustrating for his parents, and his duck hunting obsession soon became an even bigger concern to his high school teachers, then college professors and finally his employers.

For the last fifteen years Bill has managed to make his living in the hunting industry. The opportunity to spend his days working and hunting with top outdoor writers, video crews and fellow outdoorsmen gives him daily reminders of how his lifetime of preparation met up with an opportunity that made him "lucky" enough to make his living doing what comes natural to him. Today he owns FieldSport Communications and assists various manufacturers of hunting and fishing equipment with their marketing, communications and media relations needs.

When your passion is your job, what do you do in your free time Bill is involved in contest duck calling and is a four-time winner of the Tennessee State Duck Calling Championship as well as the 2003 U.S Open Duck Calling Championship and 2005 Grand American Duck Calling Championship. Representing his home state at the World Duck Calling Championship has been a real highlight for someone whose life revolves around the pursuit of waterfowl. Bill also enjoys training and running his retrievers and has competed in and judged every level of AKC Hunt Test. He has also competed in the Qualifying and Amateur divisions of AKC Field Trials.

While he has hunted in all four flyways and several Canadian provinces, Bill still finds the most enjoyment hunting ducks in the river bottoms of West Tennessee and Arkansas where he learned to hunt. Most spring mornings Bill can be found close to a gobbling turkey somewhere between his house and the office. He currently resides in Bartlett, Tennessee with his very understanding wife Nina, and their young son Bill. "Little Bill never had a fighting chance!" says Bill of his new hunting companion. "His grandfather bought him a Tennessee Lifetime Hunting License the day he was born."
