It all started in Southern Illinois, where Casey says he learned the values of the outdoors including not only hunting but racing motocross from his father. Even though he and his wife now live in Stanley, Kansas, Casey still tries to hunt with his father as much as he can. "I'll never forget who taught me the importance of the outdoors and having fun in it," Casey says. "Learning to waterfowl hunt in Southern Illinois during the "golden years" taught me how intense public hunting can be, as your hunting around the best of the best in some of the most crowded marshes I have ever hunted." This meant many weekends without sleep camping o
ut with his 3 brothers to save the hot spot for the next morning.
Running on little sleep was something Casey was used to from working on th
e Dairy Farm until he Graduated High school. Working on the farm taught him good work ethics, and often when he got done milking in the morning he still had enough time to hit the duck marsh for an hour or two before class. After high school Casey moved to Kansas City in September of 1999 to attend a Technical College. College was about the same for Casey, he lived and breathed waterfowl
hunting and racing motocross. Which brought him to be crowned the 2003 Kansas City Area Season Super-cross Champion along with numerous wins among the Missouri Circuit? Later that year Casey started putting his competitive nature toward contest calling on the goose calling stage. In his first year he got his first 2 big wins and continues to place top 3 in contest around the nation. However he's not just a goose caller, Casey has placed 2nd in an open main street duck contest and several top 3 finishes in meat style and 2-man contest around the nation. The contest world opened Casey up to the media business where he has made appearances in 5 well known Waterfowl DVD's including the recent RNT "The Calling" and Shawn Stahl's Fowl Pursuit "The Good Times". One of his favorite accomplishments was ranking in at #14 on the Callingducks.com power rankings where every caller in the world is ranked based on top 5 finishes. "My biggest goal right now is to increase my rankings and get to Worlds and try my luck at becoming a World Champion". Casey worked with Shawn Stahl and a
few others to give input for the new RNT Contest Goose Call.
Casey is a full time Network Engineer at Sprint-Nextel where he is in-charge of producing technical documentation and wireless technical s
upport for installation crews across the nation. For Casey he is following in his dads footsteps in the Telecom Industry which has always been a dream of his. On the side Casey is co-owner of Tribal Outdoors which is a graphic design company teamed up with Natural Gear Camouflage developing a new edgy clothing line with the help of his oldest brother's tribal waterfowl designs. Casey Says. "The goal is to get a cool and edgy clothing line out for people to wear and what better company to be working with then Natural Gear".
